Hydrodynamic instabilities arising in Supernova explosions can be modeled experimentally using powerful ICF laser systems. The experimental results are compared with two dimensional (2D) numerical simulations and a weakly nonlinear analytic model for interface instabilities between incompressible liquids. The analytical model is extended to 3D situations, permitting the investigation of rectangular cells as an example 3D mode.
