Observations of 13 compact radio sources have shown that all contain secondary components a few arcseconds from the compact radio cores. The secondary components are optically thin with steep spectral indices, contain less than approximately 10% of the total 6-cm flux, and are asymmetrically disposed with respect to the radio cores. All but one of the sources are quasars. Approximately 30% of all bright compact radio sources contain this type of structure at 6 cm. These objects can be interpreted as a morphological type distinct from double sources, or as ordinary doubles whose radio core emissions have been enhanced by relativistic beaming.
