Preliminary positions and visibilities are reported for candidate extragalactic compact radio sources at declinations greater than 67 deg, which may be used in establishing an inertial grid. Observations were made with an interferometer consisting of the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope and the 25-m NRL antenna located at Riverside, Maryland, at frequencies from 5010 to 5008 MHz. A total of 13 sources which appear to have compact structures at 5 GHz is obtained, including 10 which are found in the 6-cm S5 survey of Kuehr et al. (1981). The sources are expected to make excellent calibration sources for future VBLI experiments in the Northern Hemisphere.
