Results of a search for compact galaxies of high surface brightness in a region of 11 sq deg surrounding the point RA equals 7 h 59 m, dec equals 54 deg 44 arcmin are presented. Examination of B and V negatives obtained at the Schmidt focus of a 2-m universal telescope resulted in the detection of a total of 70 galaxies at visual magnitudes down to 17.8, at a mean density of seven/sq deg. Coordinates, V magnitudes, B-V color indices and finding charts are provided for the galaxies, and expressions for the dependence of the number of galaxies down to a given magnitude on the magnitude are obtained. The distribution of the present galaxies and those found in previous searches with respect to color index is also examined, and a symmetrical distribution is found with a peak at 1.4 mag and a mean value similar to that of elliptical and lenticular galaxies.
