Our recent interferometric observations in the mid-IR detect dust in the immediate vicinity (tens of AU) of a small sample of evolved massive stars.
The late stages of massive star lifecycles are poorly understood. We discuss the implications of these measurements for the evolutionary stage of these stars and possible dust production mechanisms.
