Worried about the level of funding for science in this country? Do you support efforts to improve science education? Whether you are you a member of a large scientific project that needs continued federal support, a single investigator that needs the support of grants from funding agencies, or a concerned educator, our Representatives and Senators are our direct contact with national priorities and funding. They are busy people with diverse responsibilities but are interested, for the most part, in the work and viewpoint of a university physicist from their state. As a real person being represented by the Congressperson, knowledge of your work in physics can help them make an abstract policy or budget line personally meaningful. This talk will give some suggestions to help accomplish this based on personal experience.
