It is shown that the use of limb darkening in the hotspots model of Schwarz and Clark (1984) and Clark and Schwarz (1984) cannot account for the observational data on molecular bands polarization in Alpha Ori if the scattering layer is outside the stellar atmosphere. Under these circumstances, increases in polarization across TiO bands with no position angle changes are found, in contradiction to model data.
