Some of the first impressions from the study of the planets by spacecraft are discussed. The telemetric information which was received was processed. Transmission to Earth of telemetric information about measurements made directly in the atmosphere of another planet are reported. The general rules governing the structure and evolution of the planets are examined. The complexity of the technology of the actual flights to Venus, space communications, flight control and landing control, and the development and production of the automatic interplanetary stations themselves are outlined.
