In the last decade a technique called atomic resolution x-ray holography was introduced for probing the local atomic arrangement of orientationally ordered systems in 3D. Several experimental and theoretical works have been published on this method. All of these studies proved that the method can be used for imaging the local order. In all of these works a low pass angular filtering was applied, either only in the experiment, or both in the experiment and in the evaluation process. In a recent paper Fanchenko et al. [

] questioned the validity of all these works. We show that their conclusions are erroneous.
