The discovery and explanation of the non-gravitational effect in the cometary orbital motion are summarized. Standard non-gravitational acceleration models and their results are outlined. Alternate non-gravitational models, some problems of a short-term non-gravitational effect caused by cometary outbursts and jet activity and the future prospect of this kind of studies are discussed.
