On the basis of an analysis of a catalog of flares of cometary brightness, evidence is given for their connection with solar corpuscular radiation. It is shown that cometary flare activity depends on the phase of the 11-year solar activity cycle: the maxima correspond to periods of rise and fall. Active phenomena in comets correlate not only with the appearance of high-velocity streams of solar plasma but also with many geophysical phenomena generated as a result of the action of the solar plasma on the earth's magnetosphere and atmosphere.
