Meteor Streams: Evolution, Meteor Streams: Comets

Scientific paper

A review on the problem of the initial structure formation and subsequent evolution of meteor streams of cometary origin is presented. A complex numerical model of young meteor stream formation taking into account reactive deceleration of the cometary nucleus and its form change in the process of the stream formation is discussed. The model made it possible to predict the existence of the young meteor stream fine and superfine structure, the characteristics of which agree with the Draconid and Leonid meteor shower observational data.
