The cumulative mass flux function obtained by VEGA-2 SP-2 impact instrument is used to calculate the brightness integral, for grains of various compositions, in the framework of Mie theory and of the authors' model for light scattering by rough grains. Polarization for large scattering angles and color in the ultra violet and visible range are also obtained. The results are compared with the space and ground-based observations. General indications on the properties of cometary dust are outlined.
