This paper discusses the problem of estimating a mean vector of n independent sample mean vectors of the same population or the same physical quantity with their corresponding n variance-covariance matrices (or weight matrices) for which off-diagonal elements are nonzero; e. g., when fitting an equation of polynomial of some degree to a large number of observations by the least squares. Solution is based on the statistical estimation theory and has practical utility in the field of astronomy.
