The role of the E1 strength is underlined in r-process microscopic calculations: the low energy part of the dipole has an impact on the radiative neutron capture rate. The Giant Dipole Resonance in both stable and unstable nuclei, also plays a major role in the propagation of Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Rays, which could be made of nuclei. A new method to measure the Giant Monopole and Quadrupole Resonances in exotic nuclei is presented. The link between Giant Resonances in exotic nuclei and supergiant resonances at work in the inner crust of neutron star is also detailed.
