The collected photometric observations of the FK Comae-type star HD 199178 extending from 1975 to 1989 are presented. All observations are transformed to the standard Johnson UBVRI-system. An improved ephemeris is determined from the photometry, and the light curve and color index curve fits are derived. The collected polarimetric observations from 1981 to 1988 and the second-order Fourier fits of these observations are also given. A detailed description of the methods used in combining the new and previously published photometry and polarimetry is given with the aim of establishing a firm basis for long-term studies of this object.
