Wakayama University and local public astronomical observatories have a collaboration organization called Wakaten since 1997. We have about one meeting a month, and will have the 70th meeting in February 2004. Powered by Wakaten, we can promote astronomy education, popularization, and contribution to local community with quality and quantity that can not be accomplished by a university or observatory alone.
