Reflection coefficients rhoEs are investigated for screening and semitransparent sporadic E layers for vertical and oblique sounding on decametric radio wave paths. The relationship between these coefficients for sounding at different frequencies and different paths is examined, and a parameter relating these coefficients for oblique and vertical sounding is defined. The effect of the physical characteristics of the Es layer on the reflected signal is also studied.
