The Monte Carlo method is used to calculate the coefficients of ionization of neutral particles in the ionosphere by low-energy electrons (E not greater than about 30 eV) near a spacecraft or rocket during electron-beam-injection experiments. Elastic and inelastic collisions between electrons and neutral particles in the resonance region are taken into account along with the motion of electrons in the geomagnetic field between collisions.
