Methods used to determine and validate the fine-aspect attitude (which contributes to the instrumental anisotropy limit) are presented for the Cosmic Background Explorer satellite. The focus is on the use of the Diffuse Infrared Background Experiment (DIRBE) star observations to refine the attitude and the methods used in the gyroscope calibration and attitude validation.
