A coagulation model of aerosols of cosmic origin in the middle atmosphere is developed. The influx of meteor vapors and of micrometeoroids, and the processes of condensation, coagulation, sedimentation, and diffusion are taken into account. The physical mechanism of the formation of the light scattering layer in the upper stratosphere is explained.
