Detection of strong emission in C-12O (J = 1-0 and 2-1) and C-13O (J = 1-0) in the nucleus of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1365 is reported. Integrated line intensities of 47.7 and 7.4 km/s for the C-12O and C-13O J = 1-0 lines, respectively, are obtained at the central position. From multicolor CCD photometry, a preliminary model for the dust distribution of the nucleus and the bar is derived. The results suggest the presence of optically thick CO clouds, and do not provide evidence for a hot optically thin CO medium.
