Results from CMVA and VLBA observational programs at λ3 mm of the core of nearby active galaxy, M87, from the last three years are reported. Fringe detections are seen on baselines as long as 1.6 Gλ . An image has been made using the original 6 element southwestern subset of the VLBA with a resolution of ≈0.4 mas. Some evidence for an additional spectral component in the core above 30 GHz is seen. The consequences of this detection are examined and the prospects for improved imagery at λ3 mm with the CMVA and VLBA are discussed.
