The present and future cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments allow us to go beyond the information contained in the power spectrum. In particular, the non-Gaussian signatures in the CMB represent a very promising tool to probe the early universe. However, the secondary anisotropies, the galactic emission and the instrumental effects also induce non-Gaussian distributed anisotropies. It is therefore important not only to develop non-Gaussian estimators, but also to understand the physics of these effects to better disentangle between them.
