A geometrical toy model making it possible to restore all the main features of the correlation function of galaxies is constructed in order to elucidate the dependence of the recently discovered twin power-law behavior of the two-point spatial correlation function on the geometry of the large-scale distribution of galaxies. The model shows that the presence of both rich clusters and filaments between clusters is necessary to obtain a correlation function with two power laws. At small separations the correlation function is essentially determined by galaxies in clusters, and at large separations by galaxies in filaments and by intercluster correlations. It is concluded that galaxies in filaments are located in small groups, and bright galaxies are the main galaxies of these groups. The differences between the correlation functions of bright and faint galaxies appear as a consequence of this distribution.
