Light curves (UBVR) of the faint eclipsing binary HS Per in the Perseus
spiral arm are obtained. The light elements are determined. The elements
of the photometric orbit are calculated by Lavrov's direct method. The
nature of the components is discussed. We suggest that HS Per is a young
binary system, whose components have not achieved the main sequence.
