CLEAN is a project to detect neutrinos emitted from the pp reaction, the fusion process that lights the solar furnace. Neutrino-electron scattering events in a ten tonne mass of cryogenic scintillator are detected using wavelength shifters and photomultipliers. Radioactive backgrounds are minimized through active self-shielding and cryogenic cleaning. CLEAN is also highly sensitive to WIMP elastic scattering events and could contribute significantly to the search for dark matter. New computer simulations of position resolution and background subtraction in CLEAN will be presented.
