We present an investigation of circumbinary disks (CB) surrounding Dwarf Novae and Nova-like binaries. It has recently been suggested (Taam & Spruit, 2001) that ejected material from the binary system could feed a CB disk. Theoretically the CB disks might be observed via narrow absorption lines which orginate in the CB material and are visible in UV spectra. Such lines would likely have radial velocities equal to the gamma velocity of the binary. We have chosen a sample of stars whose gamma velocities are known and whose inclination angles range between 40 and 90 degrees. Spectra for our sample objects were obtained from the HST archive. We discuss the likelihood of the existence of CB disks and set upper limits for the mass and density of the CB disk.
