An automatic tracking method of space objects, namely, the circular orbit tracking method, is presented, in which a circular orbit is assumed and calculated, then the position extrapolation is made on the orbital plane. Compared with the position tracking method, this method will not be affected by nonuniform apparent motion of the object, and it has a very high tracking accuracy. With this method, even if the telescope is equipped with a low frame-frequency (1-2 Hz) CCD detector, accurate tracking can still be realized. It can offer many CCD coordinate points to sample the objects at multiple points in different regions, thereby improving the positioning accuracy.
