The transport and mixing of ozone and other chemically active trace constituents in the summer stratosphere has become the focus of recent studies. A new European project devoted to this issue, called "Spring-to-Autumn Measurements and Modelling of Ozone and Actives Species" (SAMMOA), is presented, as well as preliminary results on the simulation of the transport of long-lived tracers in the summer polar stratosphere.
