Active Galactic Nuclei
Scientific paper
The recent research activities on the observational study of the metallicity evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) is studied, which is a useful strategy to investigate the history of the cosmic metallicity evolution. Specifically the authors describe their two independent methods to measure metallicity in ionized gas nebulae of AGNs. Both methods result in the same conclusion, that the AGN metallicity positively correlates with the AGN luminosity but this relation does not show any redshift evolution up to z approx. 4.
