Our main objective is the determination of chemical compositions of planetary nebulae, since these data are of critical importance to evaluation of stellar evolutionary scenarios. Planetaries are associated with the penultimate stage of a star's life. The abundances of carbon and nitrogen are particularly significant. They can be found reliably only with the aid of UV lines. The IUE data permit the nebular ionization stratification to be assessed because we can find the distribution of the emissions in [Ne IV], and in ionic radiations of nitrogen, carbon, and oxygen across the nebular images. With such data we can improve our calculated theoretical models intended for the interpretation of nebular chemical compositions.
