A multiplicity spectrum is obtained for muons with a threshold energy of 0.25 TeV in groups of 20-200 particles in a telescope. The spectrum is used to derive the chemical composition of primary cosmic rays with energies of 10 exp 15 - 10 exp 16. The experimental data contradict the hypothesis about the increased role of iron nuclei in primary cosmic rays beyond the bend.
