The authors calculate the electric potential which is to be expected on dust particles in a plasma, covering a wide range of plasma temperature, density and relative velocity between plasma and dust particle, two plasma compositions (H2O+ and H+) and some selected values of photoemission and secondary electron emission coefficients. An error concerning the high temperature region in the graphs of the authors' paper (Notni and Tiersch, 1986) is corrected. Systematic trends in the results are discussed, and a crude estimate is given of the influence of a charge on the motion of dust in comets.
