The modified generalized theory of gravitation developed by Saakian (1972), which like the cosmogony of Ambartsumian (1968) admits the existence of compact objects of galactic mass, is applied to the solution of three fundamental problems of physics. The problems analyzed are the gravitational field of a charged point mass, the space-curvature correction to a dipole magnetic field, and the angular velocity at which the reference frame is dragged by the slow rotation of the body producing the gravitational field (analogous to the Lense-Thirring effect). The implications for observational tests of relativity theory are indicated.
