uvby-β photometry has been obtained for more than 2100 high-velocity and metal-poor stars. Although our original intent was the study of the Milky Way's halo, many of these stars are from the Galaxy's old-thin and thick disks, permitting us to study and compare these stellar populations. Many of these stars are also found in the Hipparcos (ESA 1997) catalogue, and a new calibration for photometric absolute visual magnitudes is being developed. Kinematic data gleaned from many data bases are allowing us to study the kinematic characteristics of the thick disk in comparison with the other stellar populations; various kinematic diagrams have been plotted. The V(rot),[Fe/H] diagram is used (á la Schuster, Parrao, & Contreras-Martínez 1993) to select ``halo" and ``thick-disk" samples for a relative-age comparison in MV,(b-y) diagrams.
