The spectra of the outgoing thermal radiation of Jupiter in the 10-1000/cm range are calculated and compared with experimental data. Spectral calculations for a large number of atmospheric models are used to analyze the variability of the thermal radiation as a function of variations of different parameters of the models. This makes it possible to make a preliminary selection of spectral channels which could be used to determine the temperature profile of the Jupiter atmosphere. Numerical results are presented relating to the inverse temperature sounding of the Jupiter atmosphere with the use of the chosen sets of channels.
