Sunrise-sunset periods in the F-region below the maximum are determined using vertical-sounding data on the basis of an analysis of the structure parameters of the Ne(z) profile for fixed values of solar zenith angle chi = 90 and 110 deg. It is shown that the minimum height scale at chi = 110 is identical to that in nighttime conditions, while at chi = 90 deg it is identical to that in daytime conditions.
