The properties of the trajectories of a hypothetical spacecraft in the system of Jupiter's Galilean satellites are examined, assuming that the spacecraft motion involves close encounters with the satellites. Particular attention is given to motion instability and estimation of the motion scales. The analysis uses both simplified models and numerical integration of the equations of motion. Examples of strongly unstable trajectories are given.
