Data are presented on the chemical composition of chondrules belonging to various structural types, and the composition of their mineral phases. It is shown that, compared to the chondrules of C-I chondrites, the chondrules of ordinary and enstatite chondrites are depleted in lithophyles, whereas the chondrules of carbonaceous chondrites are enriched in refractories and depleted in intermediate volatile elements. These results indicate that the process of chondrule formation played a significant role in the element fractionation in the preplanetary nebula. The average composition of O-chondrites, unlike that of C-chondrites, does not depend on their chemical type, indicating the absence of local heterogeneity of the precursor matter in the zone of O-chondrite formation.
