Data on the structure and mineral composition of chondrules from chondrites belonging to various chemical types are compared. The considerable structural variability observed in these chondrules indicates that every individual chondrule was formed independently and was crystallized at its proper conditions. The carbonaceous and ordinary chondrites were found to differ with respect to the amount of their chondrules, the relative abundance of chondrules belonging to a particular structural type, the mineral compostion of their Ca,Al-chondrules, and the content of the Fe,Ni-phase in their chondrules. The presence of relic grains in some chondrules and the findings of poikilitic chondrules indicates that the chondrule-forming process is polyphasic.
