Teaching In Astronomy: Three-Body Problem
Scientific paper
The authors consider the Sitnikov problem, an especially simple case of
the restricted three-body problem, which becomes highly chaotic as the
value of a certain parameter is increased, the signs of chaos appearing
neatly. They argue that it provides a very clear example for introducing
students to non-integrability and chaos.
