The aim of the present proposal to test whether the apparent mismatch between X-ray absorption and optical spectral type (attributable to reddening) in some AGN is real or due to changes in he source properties, as predicted by the AGN Unified Scheme. We propose here to complete the quasi-simultaneous -- X- ray/Optical-- observation program of a well-defined sample of Changing Type Seyferts we started in AO3 and continued to AO6. Besides the simultaneous observations, we will perform delayed optical spectroscopy to account for possible time lags between changes in the X-ray source and optical.
