Orbital-parameter changes and runaway velocities of initially synchronized binary systems due to symmetric mass loss by one of the components are presented. The computations were performed for systems with the following mass ratios (i.e., ratio of the mass of the companion to the initial mass of the exploding component): 0.001, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 15, 20, 25, and 30. Three modes of mass decay and various mass-decay rates were taken into account. The parameters are given relative to the initial values of the system.
