Located within Cygnus, Onsala 2 (ON2) is a massive star formation complex containing HII regions, masers, and young optically-revealed OB stars. We present results of a sensitive Chandra ACIS-I observation of the southern part of ON2 (ON2S), near the compact HII region G075.8+00.3. ON2S was captured while imaging the surrounding young open cluster Berkeley 87, which contains more than 100 known members including the rare oxygen-type Wolf-Rayet star WR 142. The Chandra image reveals approximately 250 X-ray sources. The ON2S region stands out as a remarkable dense X-ray cluster which is resolved into at least 40 sources within a 2 x 2 arc-minute region. Diffuse X-ray emission may also be present. We will summarize X-ray source properties in ON2S and the surrounding Berkeley 87 cluster.
