Hot gaseous halos around disk galaxies serve as the reservoir of gas for continuing star formation in galactic disks and the depository of galactic feedback, connecting the galaxies with their environment. We have conducted a systematic data analysis of the Chandra data on 53 nearby edge-on disk galaxies. We characterize the hot halos by measuring their X-ray luminosity, overall size, elongation, lopsidedness, average temperature, and mass/energy content. These measurements further allow us to conduct a statistical analysis, comparing the hot halo characteristics with other galaxy properties, such as the SFR, stellar mass, environmental density, etc. We will further discuss the origin, dynamics, and fate of the hot halos.
