We present our analysis of two Chandra observations of SN1987A. We have resolved the supernova remnant with Chandra, and have found that it has a ring-like structure, similar to the radio remnant observed with the ATCA telescope. The X-ray remnant is brightening faster than an extrapolation of earlier ROSAT data, and has bright spots that may be associated with some of the optical hot spots. Our first observation included a high resolution dispersed spectrum of the X-ray emission, which is dominated by bright lines of O, Ne, Mg, and Si. We set an upper limit of 2.3 x 1034 ergs/s on the luminosity of any embedded point source (0.5 - 2 keV).
