I will discuss new Chandra observations of a sample of distant (z=0.2-0.5), luminous lensing clusters. I will present results on the radial properties of the X-ray gas determined from spatially-resolved spectroscopy, and a detailed comparison of independent mass measurements from the X-ray data, optical dynamical studies and gravitational lensing. I will discuss the evidence for distributed mass deposition from the cooling flows in the clusters and present results on the ages of the cooling flows.
