We present preliminary results from two surveys performed with NASA's X-ray astronomy mission Chandra. The first deep survey (75 ksec) performed with ACIS-I covers the Herschel deep Field where deep optical imaging data are already available down to B=28. The other "shallow" survey (10 ksec per field) consists of 10 fields previously observed by ROSAT and ASCA.
