We present a detailed Chandra study of the complex spectral structure of
the intracluster medium in the core of the Perseus cluster. We map the
asymmetric distribution of the X-ray gas properties, such as temperature
and metallicity, and study the spectral variations across prominent
features like the well-known holes and their rims.
